Roberta Anne "Bobbie Anne" White was the daughter of Annie Laniece Anderson and Robert Parker White. She was born on the Link Farm on Duck River, near Hurricane Mills, Tennessee.
Bobbie Anne is the granddaughter of Vennie Lee Lumsden & Moody Marvin Anderson and Lula Brazzora Woodward & Washington Lee White.
When Roberta was about three years old, the family moved to the Nolan Farm on West Blue Creek Road. While living there she began her school years by attending Pleasant Hill School, a one-room building in which all eight grades were taught by Mrs. Pearl Warden.
The family moved to Waverly in December of 1932.
Roberta is a 1939 graduate from Waverly Grammar School. A 1943 graduate of Waverly Central High School, and attended David Lipscomb College 1943-45 a two year school. She received her B.A. degree in 1948 and a M.A. degree in Library Science in 1952 from George Peabody College.
Roberta married Delmas Truman Robertson on December 26, 1948. A teacher and librarian in the Humphreys County School System for twenty-five years, retiring in 1976. Member of local, state, and national education associations, and was actively engaged in the various programs of these professional groups.
Roberta was a charter member of Fort Hill Chapter #2397, United Daughters of the Confederacy, where she served as Tennessee Division registrar. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Delta Kappa Gamma. Member of the Humphreys County Historical Society, Music director for twenty years for the Three Rivers Dulcimer Association, and a member of Waverly Church of Christ.
