Edmund Ted, Age 88, of Sherman Street, Wellsboro, Pa. died May 9, 2002 at the Green Home.
He was the husband of Margaret Peggy B. Bailey Osgood whom he married December 19, 1942.
Ted was born August 14, 1913 in Judson Hill, Bradford County, the son of the late Clarence L. and Margaret Grinnell Osgood.
He was a graduate of Millerton High School and received a BS from Mansfield State Teachers College in Education. Ted was a manager of the former Evans Auto in Wellsboro, and then became owner of Osgood Chevrolet/Buick in Wellsboro.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Wellsboro, Elder at the First Presbyterian Church, Red Cross Volunteer, former Chamber of Commerce President, former Scoutmaster, on Corporate Board at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, and on a Board of Directors at the Bache Foundation in Wellsboro.
He was a U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, 1st Lieutenant, serving in the South Pacific during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret Peggy B. Osgood, Wellsboro; Daughter and Son-in-law, Judith (William V.) Osgood Giddings, Merrillville, Ind.; Sons and Daughters-in-law, Edmund W. (Carol A.) Osgood, Jr., Wellsboro, and Jeffrey B. (Kathleen M.) Osgood, Wellsboro; Grandchildren, Andrew E. Smith, Eric M. Smith, Erin Osgood Webster, Jennifer E. Osgood and Joel J. Osgood; Great Grandchildren, Zachary Smith, Brynn Smith, Nicholas Webster and Devin Webster.
He was predeceased by brothers, Roland L. Osgood, in 1982, and Charles D. Osgood in 1990.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 3:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 130 Main Street, Wellsboro, Pa. with Rev. Dr. Robert K. Greer and Pastor John McNassor officiating. There will be a gathering for family and friends following the Memorial Service in the Fellowship Hall. Flowers will be provided by the family. Memorials may be made in memory of Edmund Ted W. Osgood, to the Green Home, 37 Central Avenue, Wellsboro, Pa. 16901. Arrangements by Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, a Life Celebration Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, Pa.
