Gilbert C. Lewis, age 85 of Beavercreek, OH passed away Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Soin Medical Center. He was born June 6, 1932 in Polaski County, Kentucky to Lucy Lewis. Gilbert married Jeanetta Daws on October 23, 1954.

Gilbert proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the US Navy. He worked as a press operator for McCalls in Dayton for 32 years and sold ink for Litho and Sun Chemical Inks during his career. Gilbert loved to golf and took annual fishing trips to Kentucky and Lake Erie. He was always there to support his grandchildren at their sporting events and loved to cheer them on. Gilbert loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Gilbert is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Jeanetta; two daughters, Mary Lou (Boyd) Holtzman and Marsha (Tony) Oppy; five grandchildren; Bj Holtzman, Teresa (Justin) Holtzman-Monorossa; Joshua (Jessica) Oppy, Matthew (Katy) Oppy and Jesse Oppy; nine great grandchildren, Robert, Jacob, Emalee, Jordan, Jayce, Adalynn, Boyd, Vincent and Claire; five brothers; one sister; and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 1:30 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Burial will follow the service at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
