Daniel Scanlon Sr., 75, of Flower Ave. E., died Sunday at Mercy Hospital. He was senior law partner with the firm Scanlon, Willmot, Wisner and Aylward and he was a trial lawyer.

He was a World War I veteran in which he served as an aerial photographer.

Mr. Scanlon was a member of several of organizations and clubs including the American Legion, a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of the Executive Committee of the State Bar Assn.

Born in Syracuse, he was educated in the city's public schools. In 1919 he graduated from the law school at Syracuse University and was admitted to the State Bar. At the time of his death he practiced law in Watertown with the law firm of Cobb, Cosgrove, Harter and Wright.

Mr. Scanlon married Mary Rose Gagnon in 1925, Syracuse. She died in 1944. In 1959, he married Mary Frances Zehr O'Connor of Croghan.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Frances Zehr O'Connor Scanlon; two sons, Dr. John Scanlon and attorney Daniel Scanlon, Jr., both of Watertown; two daughters, Mrs. George McAloon of Alexandria Bay and Mrs. George Peacock of Rochester; two stepchildren, Miss Cathleen O'Connor of Washington, D.C. and David J. O'Connor of Miami, Florida; sixteen grandchildren; three sisters, Miss Mary Scanlon, Ogdensburg, Miss Jeanne Scanlon of Fairfax, Virginia and Sister Roberta, CSJ, Diocese of Syracuse.
