Mattie Sceil Pritchett Lee passed away on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Diversicare of Riverchase Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Hoover, Alabama. She was born on Sunday, November 3, 1935 in Bullock County, Alabama to Samuel Pritchett and Sattie Washington Pritchett.

She accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Union Springs, Alabama. Later the family moved to Alabaster and she united with Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Mattie was a working woman. She worked at Alabaster Industries from 1981- 1998. She loved her family and friends and loved to uplift people with words of wisdom. She was affectionately known as Madear.

She was preceded in death by one daughter; Elizabeth Clayton, one brother Arthur James Pritchett and two sisters, Sammie Mae Pritchett and Bernice Jones.

She is survived by: Seven Children; Fifteen grandchildren; Twenty-two great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 16, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at The Good Shepherd Funeral Home, 150 White Street, Montevallo, Alabama.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Alabaster, Alabama with Rev. Richard Davis officiating. Interment to follow at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Springs, Alabama. The Good Shepherd Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
