SARAH ANN "Sally" LOONEY was the 2nd daughter born 15 Feb 1874 in Hamil, Randolph County, Arkansas to William Stubblefield Looney and Mary Elizabeth Brown Looney.

Sarah married CHARLES ASRO GOING 09 Oct 1890 in Hamil, Randolph County, Arkansas.

Sarah and Charles had 6 children:
1. Lucy Elizabeth "Ellie" Going
2. Alonzo Stubblefield Going
3. Homer Asro Going
4. Edna Ethel Going
5. Lambert William Going
6. Alyus Dorothy Going

After Charles went to his rest on 22 Mar 1931, Sarah married LEE CUNNINGHAM 11 Mar 1949 in Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas.

After Lee went to his rest on May 11, 1949, Sarah married GEORGE LEE DORAN 12 Dec 1951 in Pocahontas, Randolph County, Arkansas.

Raylene Izak recalled some memories about Sarah that she shared with me:

"We don't remember an awfully lot but what we do is:

Miss Goins (as we called her) was tall, slim, hair brown and wore in a bun at the nape of her neck.

She dried peaches and made incredible pies.

She had a flower garden which was not heard of in our farming community.

She moved from Corning to live with her brother, Mr. Looney (William), to keep house and while there developed an infatuation with Walter Cherry - who was killed in an automobile accident about 1952 at Christmas time. The car was driven by Joe Henson and Mr. Cherry and Mr. Looney were with him the only death was Mr. Cherry.

She always kept a box of candy in her bedroom and when my sister and I went there we would sneak in and get into it before she had time to offer us a piece. She would say "are you girls into the candy again"?

She would come to our house (about 1/4 mile down the lane) and she and my Grandmother, Effie Pearl Smith Rippee, would go out to look at the garden.

She and "momow" would tell stories about people who were charmed by snakes; wish I had paid more attention, but just didn't.

She may not have been tall, but to us she was… , but Mr. Looney and our grandparents were short so she probably was too.

The only child who ever came to visit when she lived in Richwoods that we can remember was Lambert.

I was born in 1945 and she moved about 1952 - this is by memory and seems so weak about things that were so important and shaped the person I am today.

Besides 2 of her husbands and her 3 sons, Sarah was preceded in death by her father, William Stubblefield Looney, her mother, Mary Elizabeth Brown Looney, her oldest sister, Mary Jane Looney, and 2 of her younger brothers, Joseph Marion Looney and Jerman Carrington Looney.

Besides her husband and 3 daughters, she also leaves behind 2 younger brothers, William Andrew Looney, and John Wesley Looney and a half brother Herbert Weakley Looney.

Sarah is my Great Grandmother.
