Judith Carolyn Beck Leonard, age 83 of Lexington, entered into eternal peace Monday, January 15, 2018 at Lexington Health Care.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ with the Revs. Darrell Sluder and Sarah Snell officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 am until 11 am prior to the service at the church.
Ms. Leonard was born in Rowan County on October 2, 1934 to George Washington Beck and Minnie Ora Burkhart Beck. She loved children and devoted much of her life to the care of her grandchildren as well as a career in early childhood development from which she retired. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Clifton Beck, Herbert Beck Sr., Stacey Beck, Ledford Beck, and George Beck; and four sisters, Hazel McAvery, Marylene Perry, Felita Beck, and Betty Woodle.
She is survived by her son, Curtis E. Leonard Jr. of the home; her daughter, Susan Buffkin of Lexington; two grandchildren, Kristen Livengood (Daniel) and Jason Buffkin all of Lexington; and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ at 1002 East Holly Grove Lexington, NC 27292.
