She was born July 30, 1932 in Cherry Grove, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Eula Showalter Ritchie and Ralph Raymond Ritchie.
She was a graduate of Linville-Edom High School, and had worked as a receptionist and operator for H.S. Crocker Co., Inc. She was an avid bowler, chef and baker, who enjoyed volunteering with the Women’s Fellowship at the Brandywine Church of the Brethren.
Louise is survived by her husband, Emanuel Bennett, whom she married on October 4, 1951 in Elkton, MD; two sons, Ralph Edward Bennett-Vlaanderan (& husband, Todd Vlaanderan) of CA; Robert Bennett (& wife, Erin) of Churchville, MD; one sister, Dorothy Ritchie Shipp of Harrisonburg, VA; one grandson, Gabriel Vlaanderan, two granddaughters, Katherine Bennett-Lenovitz (& husband, Alex Lenovitz); Meghan Bennett, and a special niece, Darlene Golsby of Harrisonburg, VA
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Lynn Bennett, and siblings, Raymond, Lawrence, Lynwood, Maurice, Charles, Catherine, Charlotte and Joann.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, March 4, 2019 at Kimble Funeral Home in Franklin, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 5 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Daryl Ritchie officiating.
Interment will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandywine.
