Mr. Jesse M. Perry Jr., age 84, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Perry was born on November 15, 1929 in Duchenne, Pennsylvania to the late Jesse M. Perry, Sr. and the late Ruby Miles Perry. He was married for 43 years to Sue Ellen Roberts who preceded him in death.

Mr. Perry served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He was proud of having served his country and was a member of the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 as well as being active in 40&8. He was a member of Free and Accepted Masons Lodge 31 in Columbia. He was a member of the Al Menah Shrine Temple. He loved genealogy and traced his family history back to County Clare, Ireland in the early 1800′s.

Jesse is survived by his children: Marilyn (Ward) Phillips, Sandy Waggoner, Dwight (Sharon) Perry, Steve (Sandy) Perry, Melody (Eddie) Choate, Susan (Steve) Massey, Beth (Mark) Tosh, Linda (Randy) Wilson, Brian (Janna) Perry; 23 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Funeral service for Mr. Perry will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Gene Shelton officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the United States Navy. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday also at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Good, Matt Tosh, Graham Wilson, Brad Wilson, Steven Massey, Evan Bone, D. J. Perry and Peyton Perry. Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Massey, Mark Tosh, Randy Wilson, Marvin Fautt and Dennis Harrington.
