Steven Scott Lane, 56 years old, gained his angel wings early Christmas morning and went to be with the Lord after battling pancreatic cancer.
He was a talented bass guitar player and had a love for music. Steven worked in factories for many years and also cared for mentally handicapped adults. Steven was a big fan of IU Basketball. He was a loving son, father, grandfather, and a great friend.
Steven is survived by his wife of 30 years, Darlene Lane; his mother, Rose Ann (Lane) Roshon; three daughters and one son-in-law, Christina and David Miller, Lacey Lane, and Miranda Lane; son, Matthew Lane; stepson and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Jamie Bitner; three granddaughters, Emma Bitner, Claire Bitner, and Kaitlyn Daily; and two grandsons, Landon Lane and Isaiah Lane.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank Lane and step-daughter, Amy Bitner.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Presbyterian Cemetery on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest at Presbyterian Cemetery. Family and close friends are invited to call upon the family from Noon to 1:00 at Chandler Funeral Home in Ellettsville on Friday.
