This memorial is in the floor of the Catherine Chapel, formerly known as the Raans or Proby Chapel. Members of the Proby family were interred beneath the floor. After 1781he chapel was bricked up and used as a mausoleum and coal store, but in 1904 the chapel was restored and the bodies interred in the graveyard. Two grave slabs in the chapel have the names scoured out as they were used as shelves to store the coffins.
