Barbara resided most of her life in St. Albans. She attended Carter G. Woodson and Garnet High School but was a graduate of Saint Albans High School.
She retired after 10 years of service with (KRT) Kanawha Valley Regional Transit Authority.
She was a member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church.
She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend.
She leaves to mourn her daughters, Vicky L. Terry-Keene (Thomas) of Dunbar, Jessica V. Calhoun of Atlanta Ga., Lisa K. Calhoun of West of Charleston; sons, James A. Lark (Violet) of Charleston, Michael L. Calhoun (Shirley) of Charleston; eight grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren; one great - great - grandchild; brother, Maurice Calhoun (Rita) of Atlanta Ga.; sister, Sandra Bruce (Rufus) of Cleveland, Ohio; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by her son, Anthony Darnell Calhoun; grandson, Timothy L. Thompson; twin sister, Betty, Constance; and four brothers, Lawrence Spencer, Ronald, Joseph and Malcolm.
Family hour will be held one hour before service at the church. Service of Remembrance will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church, 1404 1st Avenue, Charleston. Immediately followed by her interment at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans.
