Jane Evelyn O’Haver-Hall, 84, Swayzee, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:14 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019, in Gainesville, Georgia. She was born in Summitville on August 14, 1934, to Jesse Pyle and Rilla (McCaslin) Pyle. Jane had lived and raised her family in Swayzee since 1956.

Jane had attended Ball State University studying education until her marriage and move to San Diego, CA, as a Navy wife. She was the front office secretary at Swayzee Elementary School for 32 years until her retirement in 1997. She was a dedicated, lifelong member of the Sweetser Wesleyan Church and attended faithfully as long as she was able.

Jane loved doing word search puzzles. A word search book was never far from her reach and was always completed with a red pen. She was an avid reader and exchanged books with friends and neighbors constantly. Nothing was more relaxing to Jane than sitting by a campfire where she enjoyed the company of family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters: Jeana O’Haver, Greentown, IN, and Debbie (Michael) Smith, Gainesville, GA; son, Michael (Tammy) O’Haver, Avon, IN, and 3 grandchildren: Jason (Santanna) O’Haver, Kokomo, IN; Ryan Smith, Le Havre, France; and Rachel Smith, Denver, CO. She was also the adopted grandmother to Victoria, Jayson, and Lexie Hawkins along with many other children who had the privilege of knowing her. As the beloved Aunt Jane, she will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and friends. Her constant companion and loyal pet, Copper, already misses her terribly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband, Gerald “Bill” O’Haver; 2nd husband, Donald Hall; and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive visitors from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2019, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee, IN.

A funeral service for Jane will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at the funeral home with Rev. Matt Stewart officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery.
