Born in Greenwood March 22, 1927 to Morris Luke Thompson, Sr. and Marie Cooper Thompson.
He served in the US Army and worked for Satterfield Construction Company. He was an avid bowler and square dancer.
He was a member of Lowell Street United Methodist Church, a Mason for Friendship Lodge AFM #25, a member of the American Legion Post 20 and the Greenwood Bowling Hall of Fame.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are his children, Beverly Nichols and husband Steve of Greenwood and David Thompson of Prattville, AL; grandchildren, Phillip (Abby) Nichols, Lauren (Mark) Gagliano, Levi (Saraya) Thompson, J.D. Thompson, Cody Thompson, Shane Thompson; 2 great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Paul Walker.
He was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Thompson Walker.
Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
