After almost thirty years in upstate New York, Louise grew weary of the cold winters on the shores of Lake Ontario and moved to Dallas, Texas in 1952.
Once in Dallas, she was employed at Yellow Transit where she met her husband, William Marvin King, Jr. They were married on October 28, 1952, and just a year and half later welcomed their only daughter, Lynn Rose, into the world.
Louise also worked as a housekeeper and nanny for the Davenport family for many years.
Louise loved to sew and knit and made countless quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed collecting coins. She loved working in her garden and took meticulous care of her yard, continuing to mow her own yard well into her eighties, and continued to work in the garden and rake leaves up until her death.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Angelina, Mary, Lucy, Rose, and by her husband of twenty years, Bill.
She is survived by her daughter, Lynn James and husband, Gordon; her grandchildren, Brian James and wife Sarah, and Chelsey Rhine and her husband Chuck; her great-grandchildren Noah and Aubrey James, and Scout Rhine; as well as countless other extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Cedar Hill, Texas on Monday, March 4, 2019 at 11:00 am. The family will receive visitors at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville, Texas on Sunday, March 3, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
