Edna Mae Ellis, 83, of Bruno, WV departed this life Tuesday, February 26, 2019 from Logan Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church where she had served as a member of the ladies aide. She loved doing needle crafting, to give to others, and she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Born on July 17, 1935 in Logan County, she was the daughter of the late Connie Wirt Walls (1913-1951) and Truby Toler-Walls (1912-1937): and was raised by her grandparents, the late Wilce Toler (Deceased) and Mae Toler (Deceased). In addition to her parents and grandparents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Kadger Ellis (1932-1987) whom she married on September 22, 1951 in Christian, Logan County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Logan County, WV, 1951, Page 165, Application Date: September 18, 1951); sisters, Ailene Walls-Bailey (Deceased)and Helen Sue Walls (Deceased); and a host of brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her daughters, Joann Ellis-Zigan & husband Henry Zigan of Newark, OH, and Drema Ellis-Nelson & husband Michael Nelson; sons, Rev. James Ellis & wife Diana Ellis and Eugene Ellis & Kathy Ellis, all of Bruno, WV; eight grandchildren, Steven Zigan, Christopher Zigan, Allen Ellis, K.C. Ellis, Brandon Ellis, Anthony Nelson, Jim Nelson and Jacob Nelson; twelve great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild on the way; siblings, Rev. Tilly Walls & wife Donna Walls, Ronald Walls, all of Verner, Phyllis Walls-Glandon & husband Johnny Glandon and Juanita Walls-Profitt, all of Bruno; and a host of other family and friends.

Friends may gather with the family Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Sandlick Freewill Baptist Church, where funeral services will commence on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 1:00 pm, with the Pastor Bill Cantrell and Deacon Roger Walls officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Pecks Mill.
