Maxine Goodwin, 96, of Quincy, passed away at 4:36 p.m. Thursday (February 28, 2019).
Born December 23, 1922 in Bowen, Illinois, Maxine was the daughter of Alonzo and Ida Cookson McPeak. She married Irven Goodwin on June 25, 1938 in New London, Missouri. He preceded her in death on May 5, 2000.
Maxine was a member of Grandview Church and had been active in her church all her life. She was first and foremost a homemaker who was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters Jackie Louise Beedle of Quincy and Robyn L. Johnson (Doug) of Loraine; one son Aaron LeRoy Goodwin (Donna) of Quincy; seven grandchildren Aaron Goodwin (Kim), Michelle Boualavong (Loune), Teri Jo Silva (Anthony), Stephanie Agnew (Deon), Shelby Jackson, Tammy Lambert and Tracy Aguilar; eighteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
Mrs. Goodwin was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter Charlotte Jean Plenge, a granddaughter Tina Louise Rose, and a infant brother Alonzo McPeak Jr.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 11:00 at Grandview Church, (1019 Cedar Street, Quincy) with Pastor Dennis Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon from 3:00 to 6:00 at the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home and Monday morning from 10:30 until the time of services at Grandview Church.
Memorials may be made to Grandview Church.
