A native and lifelong resident of Swain County, she was a machine operator at White Shield, a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church, she loved canning, baking cookies and crocheting. Daughter of the late Jack and Selma Messer Lambert, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Lovocia Cole and Elizabeth Dennis.
Surviving are her sister, Betty Smith of Bryson City; brothers, Bill Lambert of Bryson City, Claude Lambert of Richfield and David Lambert of Burlington.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Melton-Riddle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Reid officiating. Burial will be in Campground Cemetery.
