Wanda Lou Hughes, 81, of Oak Ridge died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Parkwest Medical Center after a long illness.
She was born August 31, 1937 In Kenvir, KY, the daughter of John and Letha Cleveland Smith.
In her early years, Mrs. Hughes enjoyed softball, bowling and water-skiing. She worked for many years with the State of TN Unemployment Job Placement Center.
Her passion in life was her family and she was a big part of her grandchildren’s life. She was always available for them when needed.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Donald Ray Hughes Sr., June 7, 2012 and son, Donald Ray Hughes Jr., March 9, 2011.
She is survived by son, Kent Hughes and wife Toni of Oak Ridge; sisters, Jean Lawson and Betty Flick, both of Clinton; 7 grandchildren, Jake, Dane, Taylor, Donny III, Ryan (Angie) Sarah, and Tiffany; and 7 great-grandchildren.
