Joseph M. "Joey" Anthony, Jr., 71, a lifetime resident of Pasadena, died March 6 at Blue Point Nursing Home and Rehab in Baltimore. Born in Baltimore, August 23, 1946, he was the son of the late Joseph M. Anthony, Sr. and Catherine W. (McDermott) Anthony. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in Annapolis and Coppin State University in Baltimore. He worked for Pittsburgh De Moines as a steel layout fitter and payroll clerk. At Giant he ordered and priced merchandise; worked as a cashier. At Henderson's Wharf he was the building and ground maintenance man for condos and apartments. He owned and operated Joey's Photography from 1975 to 2002. In August 2002, he suffered a stroke which left him disabled. He was a member of St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church in Pasadena. He was an early member of the Chesapeake and Alleghany Live Steamers (CALS) train club. His hobbies included fast and loud boats, model trains, woodworking, photography and assisting Santa Claus. He enjoyed attending model train shows where he talked and socialized with other train enthusiast. He would be a friend to individuals who had no friends. Survivors include his devoted sister, Cathleen "Cappy" Jarboe; brother-in-law, H. Eugene "Gene" Jarboe of Severna Park; beloved aunt, Dorothy Hewitt of Pasadena; many cousins and caring friends especially Frank Shores, Bonnie, Mike, Cindy and Richard Slater; his devoted cat, Tiger. Visitation will be noon to 1p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, at St. Jane Frances Church, 8499 Virginia Ave., Riviera Beach in Pasadena. Monsignor Jay O'Connor will offer a Mass of Christian Burial at 1p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riviera Beach Volunteer Fire Department, St. Jane Frances School, Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland or P.A.W.S. of Anne Arundel County.
