Larry Arthur Steele
January 24, 1943 - February 19, 2019

Larry "Pops" Steele, 76, went to be with the Lord on February 19, 2019. Larry was at his home in Kilgore Texas surrounded by his loving family. In hospice care for a short time, Larry died from complications related to Parkinson's.

Larry leaves beloved wife, Linda Steele, son Jacob Steele, daughter and son-in-law, Candy and Randall Horton, his grandchildren Carter, Maddie, and Olivia Horton, sister-in-law Carolyn Steele, and his nieces Teri Steele and Traci Henderson, brother and sister-in-law Jim and Anna Hindman, brother-in law Mike Nappa, brother and sister-in-law Craig and Jamie Gahring, and numerous nieces and nephews. Larry also leaves behind his two dogs Honey and Cupcake whom he loved greatly.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Carl and Dorothy Steele and loving brother, Carl Steele Jr.

Born on January 24, 1943 in Tulsa Oklahoma, Larry was an Okie forever and a fan of all things Boomer Sooner. Growing up, Larry loved baseball and basketball and was even scouted by mi-nor league teams. Ultimately however, Larry attended college and graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Oklahoma with a degree in History. Larry loved history, particularly around WWII.

In 1972 Larry went into the City of Tulsa Credit Union to apply for a car loan and found his future wife Linda Lou. Larry and Linda lived in many places including Florida, Massachusetts, Maryland, Tennessee, and landed in Texas in the 1980's. Larry made Texas his home for the rest of his life. Like any good Texan, he loved the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, and Dallas Mavericks.

Larry was a successful salesman until retirement. In retirement, Larry and Linda enjoyed RV camping and traveling with friends. However most of all he loved his wild Sunday lunches spent his wife, kids, grandkids, and nephew Alex Hindman.

Pops was many things, but will always be most remembered for his fantastic sense of humor and contagious smile. He will be missed greatly by his family who will join him again one day.

Peter 1:3-9
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy we have been born anew to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
