Mary Ann was born Aug. 15, 1944, in Waterbury, a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Frenis) Presto, and was a lifelong resident of Naugatuck. She was a former employee of the Naugatuck Savings Bank, and a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church where she had served as a eucharistic minister.
Mary Ann was a devoted wife for more than 53 years, and will be missed dearly by her husband, Joe, who spent every day by her side. She was a dedicated, selfless and wonderful mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking and reading. She especially loved the children in her family and always looked forward to her annual Christmas parties for the kids.
She had a passion for horses, along with volunteering at St. Francis Church and School, where she was actively involved while her son, Joey, was in school. Mary Ann was a strong, kind and generous person who will always be remembered for the goodness in her heart.
In addition to her husband, Joe, Mary Ann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Dana Pinto; her grandchildren, Chase and Chloe Pinto; her sisters, Anna Paige and her husband, John, and Virginia Taylor; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mary Ann was predeceased by her sister, Angela Taylor, and her nephews, Ronnie Paquette, John Hackett and Ryan Olson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Everyone attending is kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in St James Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
