Rosie Mae Taylor, known to most as “Nannie” was accepted into the gates of Heaven on February 25, 2019. As she moved towards the light, her family sat quietly at her bedside.

Rosie, oldest of seven, was born March 30, 1936 to Lonnie Taylor and Ora Lee Thompson. She received her formal education in Bastrop Independent School District. Rosie spent her career working in the hospitality industry for Zeta Psi where she retired.
Rosie accepted Christ as her Lord and Saviour at an early age in Bastrop, Texas. She later moved her membership to Zion Hill Baptist Church where she spent decades under the leadership of Reverend Ralph Daniels. Rosie was a dedicated member and Usher until her health declined.
Rosie will be remembered for her infectious smile and quick wit. Until her last hour with us we were nourished with love, laughter, and reminded to faith.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents; sister, Ora Nell Thompson; a daughter Peggy Stewart; a brother Tommie Thompson; and great granddaughter Kyanii Harris.

She leaves in God’s hands to cherish her loving memories: daughters Linda Lindsey (Clifford) and Delores Elmore; brothers LT and Larry Thompson; sisters Elaine and Yvonne Thompson; four grandchildren, Edwin Rowe (Ann), Erica Robinson (Robert), Bridney Fisher (Anthony), and Jalen Elmore; eight great-grandchildren LaRonda, Tiarra, Devi, Tywanii, Cedrick, Avanii, Kharmin and Jeremy; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a true blessing and shining lights to everyone she encountered
