Suard was the son of Bela Wyman and Hepzibah Drinkwater. His name has been spelled Seward, Suard, and even Sewell (which coincidentally was the name of a brother of Hepzibah). His name is spelled Suard on the headstone.

On Jan 22, 1838 in Lincoln, ME he married Nancy Luce. Her parents names are not known.

Their children were Freeman Luce and James M. (James died between the 1850 & 1860 census).

They divorced before Nov 24, 1854.

On Nov 25, 1854 in Paris, ME he married Phebe (Campbell) Carver, daughter of Andrew Campbell III and Mehitable Howland, and widow of David Carver.

Their children were John Bond, Charles R, and George B.

In 1860 they also had her children Sarah, Luther, and David Carver, along with sons John Bond and Charles R Wyman.

His son, Freeman Luce, handled his probate, being the only son over 21 years old. An order was issued for Nathan L. Marshall to appear with books and records as he was accused that he had concealed, embezzelled, and conveyed away money, goods, and effects of the deceased. I haven't found any further records to see how that turned out. I did find that in 1860 Phoebe's son, Ariel Tolman Carver (age 14), was living in the household of Nathan L. Marshall.
