Catherine “Cathy” C. Ward, 70, of Springfield, died at 11:05 am, Monday, February 25, 2019, at Memorial Medical Center. She was born May 28, 1948, in Champaign, Illinois, to Harold Bennett and Clara Louise Maier Ward.
Survivors include two sisters, Carolyn (Jon Douglas) Myers of Montrose, CO and Barbara (John) Borders of Cape Coral, FL and ten nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Beverly Kemper; one nephew and one niece.
Cathy was a resident of Springfield most of her life. She served in the Illinois National Guard attaining the rank of Captain, and retired from Bi-Petro, Inc. after thirty-three years of service.
She was of the Catholic faith; graduated from Illiopolis schools; received her Bachelor’s Degree from McKendree College; and enjoyed her cat, “Macey”.
Visitation: 10:30 am – 12 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church.
Funeral Mass: 12 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2019 at Sacred Heart Church with Reverend Jim Isaacson officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Illiopolis.
