Daniel graduated from Sam Houston High School with the Class of 1965 and studied at Sam Houston State University. He was married to Patricia Ann Harrison on September 30, 1969.
Daniel served three enlisted terms of service with the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Transportation Corps; two terms were served during the Vietnam War. His service did not end at the war's conclusion as he suffered from exposure to Agent Orange, causing him several disabilities and illnesses throughout his life. Despite this, he rarely complained and conducted himself as a soldier until the end. Daniel lived with a love of life and country that stood as a testament to us all.
Daniel worked in operation management for TXT, an oilfield equipment company. He had a passion for the outdoors, wildlife photography, travel, country music, and old western movies. He enjoyed collecting pocket watches, firearms, coins and fine knives. With a heart for the needy and the downtrodden, Daniel valued philanthropy and gave generously to local charities and religious causes throughout his life.
Daniel was preceded in death by his beloved son, David Madison Harrison; his mother, Mary; his father, David; his sister, Mary Lou; and his brother, John. He is survived by his loving wife, Patty; his sisters, Jean and Joan; his adopted-in-love children and grandchildren Aaron, Amy, Mark and Isaiah; numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.
