Julia Bertilla Ojeda de Lopez, 74, of Houston, passed away on February 24, 2019, with her family at her side.  She was born to the late Ricardo Ojeda and Maria Ojeda Aldave, on January 9, 1945, in Callao, Peru.

     Julia married Angel Anselmo Lopez on July 31, 1965 and they lived together in Lima, Peru for nine years, until relocating to the United States, in the state of New York. They would settle in New York City, living in Brooklyn, NY for six years, until moving to Woodside, Queens in 1980.  The loving couple would live in Queens, NY for twenty-six years, until relocating for the last time in Houston, TX in 2005.

     Julia is survived by her four children: Angel Lopez, of Queens, NY; Sandro Lopez, of Houston; Kenric Lopez, of Hockley; and Christian Lopez of Cypress.  She is also survived by her eleven grandchildren.  Julia was predeceased by her loving husband, Anselmo Angel Lopez.

     Julia was an excellent seamstress who produced excellent products for the Rudin Brothers, such as upholstery for the studio set, and wardrobe garments for the soap opera “One Life to Live”.   Julia was always willing to use her skill, to sew and make dresses for her granddaughters, and alterations to outfits for the family.

     A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 7 PM at Klein Funeral Homes and Memorial Parks, in Houston.  The cremation will take place at a future date next week.  A memorial mass will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, on March 24, 2019.

     The Lopez family would like to extend a big thank you to all the family members living in the U.S., Peru, friends and colleagues, that have expressed their condolences, kind words, and loving support, at this moment of our lives.  Their support has made the grieving process easier and uplifting!
