OBITUARY:
Levi Floor was born in Mahoning County, Ohio, Oct 11, 1829, died March 29, 1900, age 70 years, 6 months and 16 days.
October 30, 1853, Levi Floor was united in marriage with Elizabeth Schroll of Fulton County, Indiana. To this union ten children were given, Else M., Mary J., Lusina E., Henry A., Catherine A., Luella B., Samuel J., John H., Orpa A., and Charles E., four boys and six girls. Mother, three girls and one boy having gone on before, now father has joined them, making one more accession to the severed portion of the family circle beyond. Father Floor united with the "Church of God" at Log Bethel, many years ago, remaining a firm believer in the faith. He was enjoying good health and his death was very unexpected, caused by heart failure.
The death of Mr. Floor takes away another pioneer, who has had his share of the toils and cares of life - it is only another object lesson that we too, will be called sooner or later to pass the way of all mankind.
Funeral services were held at South Pleasant on Thursday, March 29, conducted by Rev. E. Tatman. The remains were followed by a large concourse of relatives and sympathizing friends to its last resting place on earth. As we bury one dead beneath the clods of the valley and turn away from silent grave, we are led to say, soon, I shall go, whence I shall not return. For the great change awaits us all.
