Funeral services for Charles Edwin Newsom age 65 of Tullos will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday February 27, 2019 from the sanctuary of Springhill Baptist Church with Pastor Elvis Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Newsom Cemetery at Kelly under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Visitation will be on Tuesday February 26,2019 at the church located on LA 506 west of Kelly * from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Charles Edwin Newsom was born on January 3, 1954 at Urania, LA to the union of his parents John Paul Newsom and Cordie V. Allbritton Newsom and he passed from this life on February 24, 2019 at the Hardtner Medical Center in Olla following an extended illness. Mr. Newsom retired as a well pumper with Hunt Petroleum. He had a BA degree in Industrial Arts Education and he was an active member of Springhill Baptist Church.He was an avid deer hunter.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mrs. Judy Newsom; his son, John Newsom; daughter-in-law, Monica Newsom; daughter, Crystal Newsom and two granddaughters: Ryleigh Newsom and Zoe Newsom.
Serving as pallbearers will be Carey Taylor, Mark Powell, Jake Powell, Josh Carroll, John Carroll, Darrell Boudreaux, Jeremy Nugent and Roy Nugent. Honorary pallbearers include Lester Bergeron, Terry Boyette, Billy Franklin, Walter Allbritton and John Nugent.
