The Late George Archer. -- George Archer was born in Coles county, Illinois, December 28, 1848, and was married in the same county in 1868 to Miss Sarah Rakestraw. To this union were born four children, two boys and two girls, all now living. Thirty years ago his wife preceded him in death, leaving four children for him to care for. Mr. Archer was converted and joined the Chelsea United Brethren church in the year 1874 and remained a faithful member of that church. His death occurred in the home of his brother, John Archer, on Wednesday, November 6, 1912 his age was 63 years, 10 months and 9 days. A short funeral service was held Thursday, November 7, at 1:30 p. m. at the residence of his brother by Rev. Charles J. Melville, pastor of the United Brethren church. The remains were shipped to Rawlins county, Kansas, for interment.
