Besides his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Riickert. He is survived by: his wife, Hazel Blair Riickert; a daughter, Lisa Riickert, of Shelbyville, Kentucky; a brother, Ivan Riickert, of Georgia; two sisters, Carol (John) Shaw, of Robertson County, and Linda (James) Dobbs, of Alabama; and a grandchild, Elle Wasson-Riickert.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at Ware Funeral Home, with Bro. Benny Northcutt officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 2, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 354 Waller Avenue #110, Lexington, Kentucky 40504.
