Mr. James Earl Page, 92, of Reidsville, was born July 24, 1926 in Caswell County, N.C. and passed away on Sunday, February 24th, 2019 at Brookdale of Reidsville.

Earl served in the U. S. Army during World War II in France and Germany and was called to active duty from the U S Air Force Reserve during the Korean conflict serving at Hunter Air Force Base in Savannah, Georgia. He is a graduate of Reidsville High School. He retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Company in Greensboro after 30 years.

He was elected and served on the Rockingham County School Board. As a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church, he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class, was a Trustee and served as a deacon. Earl was a member of the Leaksville Masonic Lodge #136 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Rockingham County, N.C.

Along with his parents Earl was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-six years, Ramona Harvey Page; his daughter, Sharon Page; his brothers, Edward Page, Wilson Page, Lillard Page, Junius Page and his sister, Doris Page Small.

Survivors include his sons, Steven D. Page and wife, Jill of Wilson; James G. “Jamie” Page and wife, Laurie of Greensboro; grandchild, Jeffrey N. Page and wife, Katie; great-grandchildren, Hannah Page, Andrew Page and Emma Page; step-grandchildren, Renee Holcomb-Barr, Sara Holcomb and David Dunlap; step-great-grandchild, Adelia Barr; special friends, Belva Smith and family and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 28th, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Clint Little officiating. The burial will follow at Mt. Herman Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale and the sitters for their tender and loving care for Earl, especially over the last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 7860 NC Hwy 87, Reidsville, NC 27320 or Hospice of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Ave. Greensboro, NC 27405-4522 or Rockingham County Animal Shelter, 250 Cherokee Camp Rd, Reidsville, NC 27320.
