Anthony Jerone "Burns" Knight was born on December 8, 1959 in Davidson County, Tennessee, the son of Alice J ( -- ) (Knight) Swett (1936-2007) and her 1st husband Oliver Knight Sr.

He was married to Adriane Spann, the daughter of Richard Spann.

He was educated in the Davidson County School System, graduating from North High School in 1977. He was also a veteran of the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1982. He was a teletypewriter and electric typewriter repairman.

He worked in all phases of maintenance, building and grounds, industrial, construction and insurance repairs (1983-1999). He worked for his stepfather ten years at James Swett Construction. He was the assistant building superintendent on the Cumberland Science Museum. He was the Industrial Maintenance Tech for Lochivar Industries. He was a carpenter, master craftsman, and master cleaner for several real estate and property management companies. He was self-employed 1999-2017.

He received the Man-of-the-Year award at the Saint Peter A M E Church and was a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent at that church.

Living in Nashville, Tennessee, he was 59 years old when he passed away on February 21, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather James Louis Swett (1930-1993), his sister Latanya Muldrew, father-in-law and by his brother-in-law Richard Donnell Spann. Survivors included his wife, a daughter, a son, his mother-in-law, eight brothers and five sisters-in-law, four sisters and a number of other family members and friends.

Funeral Services were held at Saint James M B Church, and burial was in Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
