After her husband's death, she moved to Clayton where she has lived for the last 10 years with her daughter, Debbie. She always said that the 20 years she and her husband, LeRoy, spent together alternating 6 months in Port Charlotte, FL and 6 months in Driftwood Campground, Avalon, NJ, were some of the best years of her life. Laura was a homemaker and worked at several glass works in the area including Kimble Glass Co. in Vineland and Owens-Illinois in Glassboro. She also worked in area delis including Duffield's Farm Market, Washington Twp. She was a member and very active in Christ Community Baptist Tabernacle, Newfield, where she attended every Sunday. Laura enjoyed being around people, working, and keeping herself busy. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing Jigsaw and crossword puzzles.
Predeceased by her children, Barry Bridges and Janet Lee Bridges, Laura is survived by her children, Mark (Sheree), Robert (Donna), Glenn (Amal), and Debbie Mecke (Dave); her sister, Rose Johnson; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2019, at 11:00 AM in MATHIS FUNERAL HOME, 43 N. Delsea Drive, Glassboro, NJ, where relatives and friends may visit with the family after 9:30 AM. Burial will be in Ferrell Methodist Cemetery in Ferrell, NJ (Elk Twp.). Mathis Funeral Home 43 N. Delsea Drive Glassboro, NJ 08028.
