Linda was born March 6, 1941.
She began taking piano lessons at the age of four, and by the age of six, she was playing piano in the church and for a quartet with her dad. She also was the uniquely talented piano player at Morrison City Mission for 40 years.
At the age of 14, Linda married the love of her life, Otis Dorton. In November 1957, their first son, Kevin was born in Germany, where Otis was serving in the U.S. Army. After returning home, they welcomed their next son, Mark, in 1963, then had two daughters, Lisa in 1966 and Marla in 1971.
Linda was a born again Christian and spent her last days testifying about and exhibiting God's grace and mercy. She was at total peace, even into her final hours.
Linda was predeceased by her parents, Keener Ketron and Alma Gobble Ketron, and her oldest son, Kevin, on November 8, 2018.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Otis Dorton; her son Mark Dorton (Kristy); daughters Lisa Castle (Dave) and Marla Morrison (Buddy), daughter-in-law Valerie (Kevin); grandsons Scott Dorton (Kristi), Greg Dorton (Ashley), Phil Dorton (Elizabeth), Hagen Castle (Emily), Grant Castle (Briley), Coby Castle, Brandon Morrison (Brittany), Chris Morrison (Brittny Ohnemus), Aaron Morrison (Nadine), and great-grandchildren, Peyton Dorton, Paisley Dorton, Abigail Burbage, Morgan Dorton, Liam Morrison, Evie Jaimes Morrison, and baby Dorton due in July 2019. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00pm, Saturday, December 22, 2018 at East Lawn Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00pm with Rev. Joe Hill and Rev. Harold Shoemaker officiating.
Graveside services will follow at 3:00pm at East Lawn Memorial Park in the garden of Hope.
