Calvin Davis Terry, age 94, of Rison went to be with his Lord on Thursday, February 14, 2019. He was born in Rison, Arkansas on October 19, 1924, to the late James Ed and Victoria Cash Terry. Mr. Terry served for a short time in the United States Army. Before his retirement, he worked for T & N Electric in Pine Bluff, where he repaired electric motors. He was a long-time member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Toledo. Mr. Terry was well known in the local area for his gardening. It was a true passion of his. He would nurture and coddle his produce until he had raised the largest watermelons, gigantic tomatoes and the juiciest cantaloupes. It gave him great pleasure to share all the things he grew with others. He loved hunting and fishing, Mike Cash and he shared and enjoyed many a coon hunt together. Calvin left a large loving family, which extended to nieces and nephews with many wonderful memories. He loved spending time with them all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Tom McCullough, Buck Terry, Robert Terry, Virgil Terry, Lillian Neely, Nettie Cash and Alma Doss.

Survivors include his two children, Vickie Padgett (Harvey) and Ricky Terry (Becky); six grandchildren, Ryan Terry (Amanda), Jason Terry (Michelle), Jamie Terry, Julie Reed (James), Jeff Padgett (Sala) and Jennifer Emerson (Matt) and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Buie Funeral Home in Rison with Brother Ronald Young officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Jason Terry, Ryan Terry, Jimmy Smith, Jim Cummings, Mike Cash, Jim Knowles, Davy King and David Terry; honorary pallbearers are Joe King, J.D. Neely, Tommy Adams, Mack Leopard, Lewis Knowles, Billy Knowles and Phillip Sherman. The family expresses a heartfelt special thank you to Tonya McCoy for the wonderful care that she gave Mr. Terry. Arrangements are by Buie Funeral Home of Rison.
