Dr Platt (MD, PhD) was in Who is Who in America 1908-09. Prominent physician, in private practice for 19 years. At one time he was chief chemist for Thomas A. Edison at Llewellyn Park, N.J. at his private laboratory. Professor of chemistry and toxicology at Hahnemann Medical College from 1894 to 1909, when he became professor emeritus. Charles was both an allopathic and a Homeopathic physican. He wrote voluminously on chemistry, education, sociology, psychology, and other subjects. He was a contributor to Engineering magazine, Engineering and Mining journal, Journal American Chemical society, Societe Chemique de Paris; Fellow chemical Society, London; He edited "The Black Rebellion in Haiti", written in French by Pierre Etienne Chazotte, his grandfather, from a longer manuscript about the uprising and massacre in Haiti in 1804 and his narrow escape, which is in the Library of Congress.
Some of his books include: Qualitative Analysis and Medical Chemistry, The Psychology of Social Life, The Psychology of Thought and Feeling, The Riddle of Society.
He took a keen interest in the problem of crime, and was president of the National Probation Assn. and a director of the Pennsylvania Commission on Penal Affairs. In his later years he devoted himself to the study of juvenile crime and the work in juvenile courts. He was a member of the Society of Founders and patriots.
He married Moira (Mary) O'Hare in 1891. She died in 1915. He married second, Mildred Sellers Almy 3 Sept 1916.

In this same grave have been placed the ashes of the son of Jesse and Amelia, Charles Platt. Born Montclair, NJ and died Ardmore, PA.
