Jackie was born November 17, 1946 in Des Moines to Wayne and Mabel (Conn) Ballard. She graduated from South East Warren High School and attended Lake County College in Great Lakes, Illinois. Jackie worked in the banking and insurance industries. She had worked for Bankers Trust for many years and most recently Principal Financial. Jackie enjoyed going to casinos and playing the slot machines. She was very involved in Boy Scouts and loved being a being a Cub Scout Leader.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Larry; children, Steven Riche, Scott Riche, Cindi Petrie and Aaron Riche; sisters, Donna Donley, Mary Thacker, Lois Schlief, Abbie England and Barbara Groeper; grandchildren, Megan Jackson, Kailyn Petrie and Brendan S.; and a host of extended family and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, 27, 2019 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Private burial will take place at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
