Calvin Leon "Rumore" Tidwell, 80, of the Five Points community, died June 18, 2009, at St. Vincent’s Blount. He farmed and also worked with Jerry Tidwell Construction Company. Born in Etowah County, he was the son of the late Andrew and Goldie Silvey Tidwell. Also predeceasing him were wife Reba Sue Tidwell, brother Archie Tidwell, and sister Iva Jordan. He enjoyed his morning coffee group and was known for his love of farming.
Surviving are sons Jerry (Linda) Tidwell and Tommy (Marie) Tidwell; brothers Alvin Tidwell and Zilvon “Shortie” Tidwell; sister Gloria Gilliland; and grandchildren Tommy (Tracie) Tidwell Jr. and Tiffany Tidwell.
Wayne Allcorn officiated services Saturday, June 20, at 11 a.m. at Blount County/Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Mount Joy Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jose Aguilar, Alejandro Cerrates, Charlie Chastain, Ronnie Gladden, Lee Hathcock, and Grady Hathcock.
