Mr. Ford attended McCrory High School before he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954. Doyle proudly served his country aboard the USS Regulus until 1960. Upon his return home, he and the former Miss Betty Holleman were united in marriage on March 1, 1963. Mr. Ford spent the remainder of his days working on his farm. He enjoyed deer and raccoon hunting, playing dominos and cards, watching television, and following sports of all kinds. Mr. Ford was a member of Hickory Ridge Church of Christ. Doyle will forever be remembered for his generous and loving character.
Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Grace Ford; a brother, Franklin Ford; and a sister, Betty Jo Tustall.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty Ford of the home; a daughter, Linda Sue Ford-Sawyer and husband, Wayne, of Portland, Tennessee; two sisters, Martha Ann Johnson and husband, Clarence, of Chapel Hill, Tennesee; and Joyce Lou Kimprood and husband, Harry, of Russellville, Arkansas; a grandson, Tyler Holleman Sawyer of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at Lewis Cemetery in Hickory Ridge, Arkansas. Mr. Larry McFadden, Mr. Bob Holleman, and Mr. James Johnson, Jr. will officiate the service.
Friends may visit at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne, Arkansas from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019.
