Kathleen "Katie" Showalter, 98, of Oakland, died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, at home.
Born April 22, 1920, in Jenningston, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Dewey Ratchford and Daisy Showalter Carr.
She was also preceded in death by her half-brother, Cledith Carr, and half-sisters, Hoberta Xecominos and Wanda O'Katch.
Katie had belonged to Shady Dell Chapel. She attended Appalachian Crossroads Day Program.
Katie loved babies and animals.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews, along with her caretakers and friends from Unified Community Connections.
Friends will be received at Shady Dell Chapel on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2019, from noon until 1 p.m.
Services will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Donald Uphold and the Rev. Debra Strawser, officiating.
A private interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
