John Tellez Ruiz, born in 1927, entered eternal life on Sept. 10, 2016 at the age of 89. John was born in Safford, Ariz., and was a long time resident of Benson. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Marcos Ruiz; his sister, Louisa Maldonado; his sons, John (Monica) Ruiz Jr. and Robert (Juanita) Ruiz; his daughters Rebecca (Michael) Babb, Rosa (Luis) Garcia and Elvira Ruiz. John's 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren will also miss him dearly. Rest in peace, Dad and Tata. You will live in heaven and in our hearts forever.
John's funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 17 at Richardson's Remembrance Center. John's burial included an honorable flag ceremony to commemorate his service in the United States Army. It was a ceremony fit to honor such a great man, husband, father and grandfather.
