George Robert "Bob" Meyer died June 6, 2004, at 12:02 a.m., at the Veterans Hospital in Tucson, from complications of pneumonia. Bob was born Sept. 9, 1933, to George and Geneva Meyer in Vermillion, S.D.
He was in the Army for five years, permitting him to spend time in Germany. Bob and his wife, Kaye, have been married 46 years.
Bob is survived by his sister Mary Galle of The Dalles, Ore.; his wife, Kaye; son Matt Meyer of Boise, Idaho; and daughters, Terri (Smokey) Lucas of Tucson, Debbie Alvarez of Benson and Glynis (Tom) Goodman of St. David; six grandchildren, Christina Gordon of Tucson, Jason Gordon stationed in Iraq, Lorenzo Alvarez stationed in Italy, Alberta (Freddie) Rodriguez of Benson, Justin Goodman of St. David and Kayla Meyer of Benson; plus one great-grandchild, Nevaeh Rodriguez of Benson.
A "Celebration of Life" will be held at the home of Tom and Glynis Goodman, 106 E. Stronghold Canyon Road in St. David, on Saturday, June 12, 2004, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (For directions call (520) 720-4882.)
