JAMES McNEELY
James McNeely, formerly of the Arklan Farm, 12th Concession, Beckwith Township, died in Carleton Place and District Memorial Hospital, Friday February 8, 1980 in his 90th year. Mr McNeely was a son of the late Bryce McNeely and his wife, Sara Jane Gillan. He farmed at the Arklan Farm at the end of the Lake Avenue East, until he retired in 1968 and moved into Carleton Place. He is survived by his wife, the former Elizabeth Pearl Ramsbottom Munro. he was predeceased by his first wife, the late Margaret Lynch. As well as his wife, Mr McNeely is survived by sons and daughters, John McNeely, Ashton; Edith (Mrs William Simpson), Jean (Mrs Horace Coleman), both of Ottawa; Arnold, Dorothy (Mrs Ray Kennedy), both of Carleton Place; Verna (Mrs Jack Yeaman), Montreal and Faye (Mrs Robert Service), Smiths Falls. He is also survived by stepsons, Keith Munro, Sudbury and Willingdon Munro, Ottawa. he was predeceased by one son, Willard. Mr McNeely is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The funeral service took place in the Kerry Funeral Home, 61 Lake Avenue, Carleton Place Monday February 11, 1980 with Rev Harry Brown officiating at 2 p.m. Interment in St James Cemetery. Pallbearers were four grandsons, Jim McNeely, Tim Kennedy, Keith McNeely and Arnie Simpson and two neighbours, Howard McNeely and Jack Hawkins.
