John Ed Keeney age 84, of Cherokee, Texas passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 in Brownwood, Texas.

John Ed was born on August 5, 1934 to Alva L. Keeney and Margie Mae Ray in Cherokee, Texas.

John Ed attended and graduated from Cherokee High School.

John Ed was in the turkey business for many years.

The love of his life Betty preceded him in death in July of 2006.

He retired from San Saba County Precinct 4 after many years of road maintenance.

He loved the outdoors and spending time with family.

He was a dad and mentor to many in his life.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his children one daughter; Karen and husband Derick Finnigan of Brownwood, Texas; one son Al and wife Elena Keeney of Burnet, Texas fourteen grandchildren and, thirteen great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Betty, and one daughter Kathy Mikol; two sisters and two brother-in –laws.

A visitation will be held on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at Blaylock Funeral Chapel in San Saba, Texas. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Kuykendall Cemetery with Brother Shannon Bond Officiating.
