Monika Elisabeth Lambeth, 63, passed peacefully after a comforting night with her son and grandchildren in her home on February 23, 2019 to be reunited with her Lord and late husband Dathan Lambeth. Born in Kaiserslautern Germany, Monika dedicated her life to Christ at a young age and started serving in ministry when she met her husband.

Although a German native, Monika considered Effingham County her home of 25 years where she had been an active member of Rincon Church of God for the past 23 years. She served in several roles including teaching and directing youth in the Missionettes. She was a grade school teacher for the Effingham County Board of Education for 18 years specializing in Reading Recovery. She was very passionate about her faith, family, teaching, and reading. She was a strong woman and full of love. She was an inspiration to all, as she continued to serve others, while overcoming multiple illnesses and disabilities. For her, to live was to live for Christ, to die, was to be with Christ – Philippians 1:21

She was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Dathan Lambeth, her son Andrew Lambeth, and her father, Walter Dietrich.

She is survived by her son Markus Lambeth (Celina); grandchildren, Christian, Claudia, Charlotte, Benjamin, and Alexander, all of Georgia; mother, Hildegard Dietrich, sister, Agnes Hoerner (Winfred), brother, Rainer Dietrich (Claudia), all of Germany; and close friends, George and Cheryl Abbott of Alabama, Vickie and Dewey Steele of Effingham County.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

Interment will follow in Effingham Memorial Gardens.

Remembrances may be given to the Love Your City Fund at Rincon Church of God, P.O. Box 273, Rincon, GA 31326.
