YAKIMA - Casey Criswell, 83, of Yakima, passed away Thurs., March 17, 2005 at home surrounded by his family. He was born Sept. 27, 1921 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to William and Adah Criswell. He spent his childhood in Ohio and Montana helping on the family farm. Casey moved to Yakima in the late 1930's with his family to work in the orchards.

In 1939, Casey moved to Vancouver, WA, where he worked building bridges. During WWII, he worked in the Vancouver shipyards building supply ships. In 1942, he met and married his wife of 63 years, Frances L. Brock.

In 1945, Casey and Frances moved to Yakima and shortly thereafter, he began his career in the auto glass business. He worked for Johnson's Auto Glass for several years, then worked for McKinney's Auto Glass until he retired in 1984. His greatest pleasures in life were the times he spent with family and friends on camping and boating trips. Casey was an avid bowler, golfer and fisherman.

He is survived by his loving wife, Frances; a daughter, Florene (James) Moran; a son, Mike (LeeAnn) Criswell; a granddaughter, Shelly Flett; a great-grandson, William R. Flett; two step-grandsons, Michael and Brent Sutton; and a step-great-granddaughter, Mystery Sutton.

Viewing will be held from Noon to 5:00 pm on Monday& Tuesday, March 21& 22 at Valley Hills Funeral Home in Terrace Heights. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in West Hills Memorial Park. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be given to Hospice or the organization of your choice, and may be left with funeral home staff at the time of services.
