Martha Farmer Douglas, 74, resident of Standpipe Street, widow of the late Charles H. Douglas, died Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Abbeville Area Medical Center.
Born October 25, 1942 in Newberry County to the late Hewlett Jerome and Nell Pitts Farmer, she was a homemaker.
Formerly of Summerville, Martha was a member of Living by Faith Baptist Church for many years where she served as Treasurer and on the Building Committee. She made Abbeville her home in 2015, and attended First Baptist Church.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are her 4 sons, Dennis Mooney and wife Meghan of Leesburg VA, Michael Mooney of Raleigh NC, Greg Mooney and wife Mary of Holley Hill SC, and Charles Douglas, II and wife Rachael of Abbeville; and 7 grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, August 26 at 1:00 PM from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel.
The family are at their respective homes and will receive friends from 12 to 1 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in Martha's memory to the charity of one's choice.
