Billy “Bill” Kay Knowles, age 75, of Heber Springs passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at UAMS in Little Rock. Born January 20, 1941 in Newburg, Arkansas he was the son of the late T.M. Knowles and Bertie Cheatham Knowles. After twenty five years in education he retired from teaching math and science at Cushman and Mt. Home School Systems. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church and the Life and Work Sunday School Class in Heber Springs.
His hobbies included computers, making video movies of his friends and family, photography and fishing. He had a unique sense of humor and was known to walk faster than most people earning him the title of Speedy Gonzales.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his brothers, J.R. Knowles and Darrell Knowles; a sister, Laverne Cone and a grandson, Benjamin Darrell Knowles.
Survivors include his wife, Royce V. Knowles of Heber Springs, Arkansas ; son, Brian Knowles and wife Brandi of Cabot, Arkansas; two step-sons, Stevens Blevins and wife Tomi of Maumelle, Arkansas and Todd Blevins and wife Michelle of Batesville, Arkansas; brother, Gail Knowles of Calico Rock, Arkansas; sister, Betty Mason King of Mountain Home, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Brooke Holt and husband Rob, Baylein Hanlein, Bethany Knowles, Jacob Blevins, Lindsey Blevins and Avery Blevins and arriving soon a great-grandson Rhett Thomas-Knowles Holt . Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 10:00 to 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Heber Springs with the service immediately following at 11:00 am with Reverend J. R. De Busk officiating. Interment will be in Cleburne County Memorial Gardens
