Carol Edith Patterson was born on Christmas Day, 1934, to Marion Esther (Davis) and Harold Sturtevant Patterson. Carol worked in the offices of Anaconda Brass Mill in Waterbury, CT, and numerous other small businesses. After retiring, she moved to Vermont where she and her mother had built a home on 20+ acres of family farmland, living there nearly 20 years. It was there that she relished the happiest years of her life, enjoying her freedom and independence, surrounded by the beauty of “God’s Country” and the numerous friends she made there.

Carol was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Torrington, and attended Congregational Churches in Charleston and Island Pond during her years in Vermont, and, most recently, Bakerville United Methodist Church in New Hartford.

She was predeceased by her sister, Priscilla Ruth Patterson Olson and her great-nephew, Emil (“Moe”) Renzullo, Jr., and is survived by her brother, Norman Harold Patterson and his wife Kathleen, her nieces Linnea (James) Olson Mescall and Colleen (Emil) Renzullo and her nephews, Edward (Charlene) Patterson, Norman Patterson, Jr., and Randall (Maureen Hannon) Patterson, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

A funeral service of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, 21 Fern Drive, followed immediately by a service of Christian Burial at Hillside Cemetery, both in Torrington, CT. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to her great nephew’s foundation, Miles 4 Moe, c/o NWCT Community Foundation, 33 East Main St., Torrington, CT 06790.
